Starting Time: 

  • NRA courses and Maryland Wear & Carry will start at 09:00 AM 
  • Maryland HQL will start at 10:00 AM.
  • Sunday sessions will begin at 10:00 AM

COURSE FEES

  • Most Courses have a standard tuition and a Lab Fee for the rental of a firearm and ammunition.
  • Maryland HQL does not have a Lab fee, all charges are included in the basic fee.
  • Reloading courses include a Lab Fee for empty brass, powder or powder substitute; and bullet as well as use of equipment.
  • All courses require a minimum 50% deposit at least 15 days prior to the scheduled class date.  Fees are not refundable except at the discretion of the Lead Instructor.

 REQUIRE TEXT AND MATERIALS

A student kit is generally included in tuition. Some courses may include a CD either in place of or in addition to a student kit.

REQUIRED MATERIALS


  • Note-taking material: pen, pencil, notepad, hi-liter
  • Eye glasses or contacts, if needed
  • Prescription medicine, if needed
  • Eye and ear protection is mandatory. Hearing protection and eye protection are available from the instructor.
  • Range attire suitable for the weather.
  • Leather closed toe shoes are required. Do not wear open toed shoes such as sandals, flip-flops, etc. 
  • Long pants (slacks) are strongly recommended
  • Ladies, please no scalloped neck blouses.
  • Water, Hat
  • Bring a box lunch as there is no facility close for dining.
  • Ammunition: 50 rounds (minimum) of factory ammunition in the same caliber as your firearm is the minimum recommended.
  • Do not bring:
    • reloads,
    • seconds, 
    • steel core or steel jacketed ammunition.(Please check the ammo before arrival.)

Firearm and Equipment Requirements


  • The firearm must be fully functional, 
  • have all factory-installed safety devices intact, and 
  • have no dangerous modifications (such as a “hair” trigger less than 4 pounds, removed trigger guard, etc.)

Rental Firearm

I have a few firearms available for rental. Please check the price list for specific costs for each course. The rental fee is included in the Mryland Handgun Qualification course.
  • Smith & Wesson M&P .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol.
  • Ruger 10/22 compact .22 caliber semi-automatic rifle with telescopic sight.
  • Ruger American Rimfire .22 caliber bolt action rifle.
  • Mossberg .22 caliber bolt action rifle.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES


  • Minimum age for most classes is 18; proof of age may be required at time of class.
  • Children age 10 and under are not allowed.
    • Unattended minors are NOT allowed on the property. They must be escorted by a parent or guardian at all times or be enrolled in an appropriate course.
  • Do not bring any firearms into the classroom, unless requested by instructor! 
  • Do not bring any ammunition into the classroom! 
  • Inclement Weather: Our range is outdoor, therefore the instructor reserves the right to postpone or cancel any range component due to inclement weather conditions.
